Our First Major Ongoing Project
M/S Ganesh Mandali of Nanganallur started a “Health Centre” in 1970 in a small hut in 2nd Main Road Nanganallur.M/S Engine Valve Ltd jointly developed the health center in 1971. The chairman of M/s Engine Valves, Mr Sidney, donated 10000 Sterling Pounds in the year 1973 and the health center acquired the present lands and building which was after Mr Sidney’s wife and became the “Margaret Sidney Hospital”. The past district governor of RI District 3230 late K.S. Srinivasan and the Charter President of Rotary Club of Madras Central, Rtn. C.R. Ramakrishnan, helped the hospital to be taken over Rotary Club of Madras Central in the year 1983.
Growth of the Hospital
With the zealous efforts of the various Presidents and members of RCMC, substantial additions have been made in space, facilities and equipment. From a mere 4-bed hospital, today the hospital has grown to a 25-bed one with two operating theatres, an I.M.C.U., 24 hours pharmacy, a fully equipped laboratory, an X-ray unit, dental, physiotherapy, diabetic, ophthalmology, and geriatric facilities. Low Tariff

Free Medical Camps
RCMC and Inner Wheel Club of Madras Central conduct three health camps every Sunday . At these camps consultation and medicines are provided free of cost. Concessions are offered on all laboratory tests and X-rays.
Clinic on Wheels
With the acquisition of a fully equipped medical van, the “Clinic on Wheels” makes its rounds to some of the remote areas surrounding the hospital. It is fully staffed with a doctor, nurse, staff assistant and pharmacist, provides free medical care in areas deprived of any medical facilities. This service along with any required medications and other treatment is provided absolutely free to all needy patients.
